Newcastle took the lead through Yoan Gouffran but could not hold on to all three points as they bring a point back to Tyneside.

Newcastle United could only manage a 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion after leading at The Hawthorns. Alan Pardew's side took the lead through Yoan Gouffran but had their advantage cancelled out in the second half.

Alan Pardew's side sit eight points below West Brom, but The Baggies have not tasted victory in three games, and seen defeat in their last two.

A win for Newcastle would almost certainly see them retain their top-flight status for next season, but the task is far from easy facing Albion who are deservedly eight in the Premier League.
