Tony Pulis has unmasked chairman Peter Coates has made a particular rallying call to his squad to galvanise them for the last push to secure Premier League safety. Stoke director Pulis and his people were visited by the club's main benefactor this week before Sunday's challenge of Manchester United at the Britannia Stadium. Coates has ploughed millions into changing the club and has warned of the economic benefits of losing top journey position after five seasons in the Premier League under Pulis. He has remained firmly behind the manager, despite developing stress from supporters, following a run of just one win within their last 13 games and has joined forces with Pulis to attempt to inspire one last drive to attain the 40-point goal which will assure protection for another season. "This week the chairman has been down and had a chat with the lads. He is a top person, and we are lucky to have him here," Pulis said. "People problem things when things aren't going well. I'm lucky to have a family in control of the club who're wonderful. "Things are not going for us right now, but when that happens you've to work even harder, and that's what we're doing. "You can not cherry-pick games and look at ones where you'll get things. It does not work like that. We have to go out and obtain the things. The full time has come for people to gain several games and set this right. Then we shall look at what went wrong at the end of the growing season. "Hopefully, hands entered, the lads will enjoy this challenge because we've not had this before. We're desperate to achieve it. "You get no grace for what you've accomplished, people look at what you are doing now and what we're doing now is not what we've done recently. "We have experienced an incredible six or eight years. We have had cup semi's, finals, Europe - it is been amazing. We're in a tough spot now though. Hopefully, with the backdrop I have had, I will be able to see this through. It is a great problem. "I believe that in life and in baseball, you have good times and bad times. It is the manner in which you cope with it that's important." Pulis accepts facing United, less than a week after their defeat against Manchester City at Old Trafford will simply boost the difficulty of their task to defeat the side he contends are already winners. "Make no mistake about this, they have won the league. People turned their noses up at Van Persie's cost, but he has been crucial for them," Pulis said. "They have just dropped against City, and I'm sure Fergie will have been at them this week. It will be extremely difficult for people. "It is just a game that people are looking forward to. For this reason you wish to be in the Premier League. We have given them great games here before".
