Former Kansas shooting guard Tom McLemore, expected to be a top pick in that 2013 NBA draft, spoke out on Friday about allegations that her AAU coach took money for you to steer him in a direction that could have otherwise never occured.
Speaking to Seth Davis of Sports Illustrated for the NBA combine, McLemore denied any familiarity with the money exchanged between those use and his former AAU teacher, Darius Cobb, who arrived on the scene in early May along with admitted to accepting money that can help McLemore make a concluding decision that benefited Rodney Blackstock, the person who reportedly gave Cobb the cash.
No longer under any sort of NCAA rules, McLemore spoke out on Friday in a in a position and guilt-free manner, telling Davis he was prepared to cooperate with the NCAA should the investigation take place.
"I would explain the truth and explain what I know, and just cooperate with them, inches McLemore said. "Hopefully they'll cooperate when camping and hear my side. "

"My reaction was like, 'Wow, '" they said. And for him to speak about the things he did and put that available like that, I intend it wasn't true... [Cobb] put me in danger and my family in jeopardy. "
McLemore said that they has not spoken with Cobb ever since the article was published -- "I've pushed him out of my circle, " he said -- knowning that the story was the pioneer he had heard concerning payments from Blackstock to Cobb. "I didn't see no money open. My mom hasn't seen no money open. We don't know nothing relating to this, " he said. "So it was subsequently kind of new to me. "
The money was that will help Cobb decide to help sway McLemore toward Blackstock—who i went to Kansas games, per multiple reports—when he was prepared to hire an agent.
McLemore finished the interview by stating that he hopes the allegations never harm Kansas University, and that he does not envy an athlete "that can't be allowed to come back" because within the events that have taken place.
One of the most explosive players through the 2012-13 college basketball time of year, McLemore averaged 15. 9 items, 5. 2 rebounds and 2. 0 assists in his redshirt freshman months for coach Bill Do it yourself and staff.

With recruiting violations a portion of the NCAA now on which seems like a on a daily basis basis, McLemore maintaining innocence from this matter shouldn't be a shock. However, if that NCAA decides to establish a full-scale investigation, it could come back by means of vacating wins or a good postseason suspension for Kansas.
