Supporters who booed Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the 12th round on Saturday evening at the MGM Grand must be ashamed of themselves. With Mayweather keeping a considerable lead in the scorecards against Robert Guerrero, he did what he had done all fight: execute his type of boxing, that is incorporating historic protection with counterpunching. Yet some wanted blood. They wanted Mayweather to hit out Guerrero, who was simply totally outclassed in the battle. Well, many people are missing the purpose. Firstly all, there is no reason for Mayweather to risk his undefeated report by the strike all of a sudden opening himself up. That would be a stupid move and his intelligence that is frankly, insulted by one, in the ring. Secondly, by needlessly criticizing Mayweather for not knocking somebody out, you are insulting his type of boxing. I understand people wish to see knockouts, but you can not offend someone for being one of the best defensive fighters in the history of the sport. What Mayweather is doing is historic. His protection is traditional. We must be praising him for that in place of criticizing him. You intend to boo somebody? Boo Guerrero, or boo any fighter who has encountered Mayweather throughout his career and maybe not forced him to become more aggressive. Certainly one of Mayweather's most challenging battles of his career was against Miguel Cotto last May possibly. A way was found by Cotto, unlike countless others, to stress Mayweather in to being more aggressive. It led to a spectacular battle. Warning: Video NSFW (language) Mayweather isn't hiding. He showed against Cotto that he can be hostile and still win. If he is owning opponents but there is no reason for him to blindly stick his leave from behind his gloves. We have to respect that since it really speaks to his supreme intelligence...which is an excellent thing, right?, if he decided not to select the kill against Guerrero Are you aware the proportion of blows Guerrero landed against Mayweather? Take to 19 % (113 of 581, via CompuBox). That's an amazing numbera'one that, frankly, should be offered a of applause, not really a round of boos. Before you think about booing Mayweather as he cruises to another victory, think about what you just witnessed. That is, perhaps once we have ever seen the best thing to defensive efficiency.
