Winners League: Borussia Dortmund skeptical of Real Madrid recovery - The Independent

The Borussia Dortmund team flew to Spain today knowing they still have a job to complete to attain the Champions League final, in accordance with director of game Michael Zorc. Zorc was part of the Dortmund group which last won Europe's top team competition in 1997 and is currently on the verge of reaching the final as part of the club's managerial staff. But, despite last Wednesday's impressive 4-1 gain in the initial leg against Real Madrid, he's informed his players that the tie remains greatly alive. "We know well and good that Real have always been effective at turning games similar to this around in their history," he explained before tomorrow night's second leg in the Spanish capital. "We understand that they have enough quality to do this and they've shown it often enough already. "We have to play as well as we did in the first leg if we're to achieve the final." Real have scored 78 objectives in 26 games at the Bernabeu in 2013, on eight occasions winning by a margin which would see them advance to the Wembley closing. They have lost one of their 17 home European matches under Jose Mourinho, and been overwhelmed only twice by German opposition on home soil. "We understand that Real Madrid will play differently at the Bernabeu to how they played in Dortmund," Zorc said to Sport1 tv. "I think we are likely to come up against some thing very strong. (But) if we play the way in which we did in the group phase or against them last week, then I am maybe not worried." Philadelphia
